Facts About Inwang jesaekdo
The painting "Inwangjesaekdo" is a celebrated landscape artwork by the renowned artist Jeong Seon, completed in 1751 during the reign of King Yeongjo in the Joseon Dynasty. Jeong Seon created this masterpiece in his birthplace of Cheongun-dong, now part of the Jongno District in present-day Seoul, South Korea.
Recognizing its immense cultural significance, the South Korean government designated "Inwangjesaekdo" as the 216th National Treasure of Korea on August 6, 1984. Today, this esteemed painting is housed at the Ho-Am Art Museum in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. It is currently owned by Lee Kun-hee.
