Facts About Mediterranean tree frog
The Mediterranean tree frog, also known as the stripeless tree frog, is a species native to Europe. It closely resembles the European tree frog, but can be distinguished by several features: the Mediterranean tree frog is slightly larger, has longer hind legs, and possesses a stripe on its side that extends only up to its front legs. Its croak is similar to that of the Hyla arborea, but it is deeper and slower.
These frogs are predominantly found in southern France, northern Italy (particularly in Liguria), southern Portugal, and various regions of Spain including Catalonia and Andalusia. They can also be spotted on the islands of Menorca and Madeira. If you ever visit Garajonay National Park on La Gomera island, be sure to keep an eye out for them there as well!
