The church of Carmen or church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and Santa Teresa which is located in Alameda Marqués de Comillas, in the city of Cádiz is a Catholic temple of baroque style.
Six years after the arrival of the Carmelite Order to the city, 1737, the works of the temple began, directed by the master builder José Bolaños. It was built in baroque style and the works were completed in 1762. The façade, with two belfries of Americanist airs, and the image of Nuestra Señora del Carmen stand out in its exterior. In its interior we can highlight the gilded wooden altarpiece, presided over by an image of the Virgin of Carmen, dated 1638 as a carving by Jacinto Pimentel.
