The Millennium Obelisk is an obelisk-shaped monument located on the seafront promenade of La Coruña. It was erected to commemorate the beginning of the 21st century and has as references the Tower of Hercules and the obelisk of the Cantons. It is 46 meters high and is made of steel and 147 rock crystals brought from Holland.

The first 13 metres tell the story of the main events and characters of La Coruña, carved in the glass.

At night the Millennium Obelisk is illuminated by 142 light bulbs. On January 1, 2001 it was lit for the first time in 12 sections.
