Facts and practical information
Neuburg Castle above Mammern in the Swiss canton of Thurgau was built in the mid-13th century by Baron Ulrich III of Altenklingen. Since 1319 it was in changing possession as a feudal estate of the monastery of St. Gall. In 1690 it was acquired by the Rheinau Monastery. However, the hilltop castle was demolished in 1745. Today, however, extensive ruins with remains of the large ring wall can still be seen. Of the main castle, the foundation remains of the keep have been preserved.
