The Museum Kleines Klingental in Basel is located in the founding building "Kleines Klingental" of the former nunnery Klingental from 1274 and was founded in 1938/39 as "Stadt- und Münstermuseum". The museum houses the collection of original sculptures of the Basel Cathedral, which were replaced by copies during restorations at the Cathedral. In addition, the museum houses a model of the city of Basel as it looked in the 17th century and a model of the Klingental monastery in the 16th century. The museum is administered by the Cantonal Monument Preservation Office of Basel-Stadt.
