Facts About Orange jelly candy
Orange jelly candy is a cherished treat that can be found in specialty food stores throughout Hong Kong. Unlike many other confections that are imported, this delightful jelly has been produced locally for years. In the 1980s, it was wrapped in a thin, edible wrapper and manufactured by Smith's Confectionery Factory in Kwun Tong. Interestingly, despite its name, the candy did not have a pronounced orange flavor.
In the early 1990s, Smith's also introduced another candy called the Orange Arm-Cicle. This hard candy was quite distinctive—it didn't taste like orange at all! Instead, it came in a variety of flavors and would even change colors during certain public holidays in Hong Kong, adding a festive twist to celebrations.
