When Is the Best Time To Visit Taiwan?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Taiwan depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Climate of Taiwan
Most of Taiwan's area lies in a humid tropical climate zone of the monsoon variety, with only the northern tip of the island in a subtropical climate zone.
The warm Kuro Siwo ocean current causes the entire country to be characterized by high air temperatures, which reach 15°C - 20°C in the coldest months and 28°C - 35°C in the warmest months. The exception is the higher parts of the mountains (the Taiwan Mountains), where temperatures are lower, oscillating around 4°C. The average annual precipitation is 2,000 mm.
Monsoon winds have a significant influence on the weather and the rainy season. The mild northeast monsoon lasts from October to late March and brings a slight increase in rainfall to the northern and northeastern parts of the island, while the central and southern regions remain relatively dry. The more intense southwest monsoon begins in May and ends in September, the increased rains occurring then mainly affect central and southern areas.
