Climate of Tonga
The islands of Tonga lie in a humid sub-equatorial climate zone, with the southern islands (Tongatapu group) having a drier climate and slightly higher temperatures. Thermometers here reach up to 28°C, and rainfall oscillates between 1,500 mm - 1,600 mm per year. The northern islands (Vavaʻu group) are cooler and wetter. The average temperature is around 25°C, and rains fluctuate between 2000 mm - 3000 mm. The water surrounding the Kingdom of Tonga keeps the temperature around 23°C - 27°C all year round.
