Facts and practical information

The Borgel cemetery is the Jewish cemetery of Tunis since 1894. The Christian cemetery opened in 1927 is adjacent to it.

Located on Avenue Kheireddine-Pacha on the side of the Gambetta esplanade, it would constitute the largest Jewish cemetery in the Maghreb, or even in the Mediterranean basin, due to the size of the local Jewish community, even if the exact number of graves is not determined at this time.
