Facts About Global Gathering
Global Gathering was an annual dance music festival organized by Angel Festivals Limited, featuring top electronic music artists from around the globe. Launched in 2001, the festival was inspired by the success of the Code club, home to Godskitchen, with the aim of bringing dance music from clubs to expansive outdoor venues. Over the years, the festival expanded to several countries, including the UK, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, South Korea, and Georgia.
In the UK, the festival found a permanent venue at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon. It quickly evolved into a major event, encompassing a wide array of electronic genres. Global Gathering earned the Best UK Festival award multiple times, a testament to its popularity. International editions were also held in places such as Miami, Florida, and countries like Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Australia, and Malaysia.
However, the festival faced tragic moments. In 2012 and 2014, two unfortunate deaths occurred during the event. These incidents led the organizers to pause the festival in 2015 to reassess safety measures. Despite plans, the festival never resumed, and Global Gathering 2019 did not take place.
Nonetheless, between 2001 and 2014, the festival left a lasting legacy, each year featuring an impressive lineup of electronic music stars. The promoters acknowledged the festival's significant impact on the electronic music scene and expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support from fans over the years.
