When Is the Best Time To Visit Uzbekistan?

The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Uzbekistan depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.

Climate of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan's climatic conditions are characterized by extreme values, with large fluctuations corresponding to a continental climate, winters with very cold temperatures, and hot summers. In the north of the country, summer temperatures exceed 40°C, and winters can be as cold as hot summers, with temperatures dropping as low as -30°C and frequent strong winds and snow blizzards.

Winter begins in late October on the plateau and in the second half of December in the south. January is the coldest month of the year, and the winter period usually lasts until April.

In summer, the greatest heat is in July. Average temperatures then range from 26°C to 35°C. From June 25 to August 5 there is the so-called chilla (from Farsi "forty days") is a long 40-day period of the greatest heat, with temperatures often rising as high as 45°C.

In addition to hot summers and harsh winters, the country, above all, is a beautiful, sunny spring with awakening vegetation, and the Kyzyl Kum desert in bloom, and a bright and warm autumn - a time of harvests, bazaars overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables. The air temperature is most optimal then, at around 20°C - 25°C.
