St. Leopold, Wiener Neustadt
Facts and practical information
The city parish church of St. Leopold is a Roman Catholic filial church of the provost parish of the cathedral in Wiener Neustadt in Wiener Straße 61. Originally a Jesuit church until the abolition of the Jesuit order in 1773. The church is called Vorstadtkirche because it stood in front of the former Vienna Gate of the former city walls and was placed as a point de vue in the axis of Wiener Straße, which since then makes a bend in front of the church forecourt, which in the extension shows remains of a Roman road towards Vienna.
