Städtische Badeanstalt, Innsbruck
Facts and practical information
The municipal steam bath is a listed building on Salurner Straße in Innsbruck.
The building was constructed in 1926/27 under the municipal building director Friedrich Konzert. The steam bath in Salurner Straße is located in a striking corner building, which stylistically can be classified between New Objectivity and Art Nouveau. At first glance, the shapely and splendid details in the furnishings catch the eye. During the Second World War, the splendidly painted glass windows in the area of the entrance were destroyed, but the building itself was not further damaged.
In 1987, a fundamental reconstruction and renovation of the municipal steam bath began. In the fall of 1990, the reopening took place. The red marble-clad foyer and the basin room with its stained glass windows and mosaics deserve special mention.
The spa is equipped with two Finnish saunas, a eucalyptus sauna, a steam sauna, a cold water pool, a warm water pool, a Kneipp facility, two infrared chambers and several solariums.
