Adamekhütte
Facts and practical information
The Adamekhütte is an alpine club hut of the Austria Section of the ÖAV at 2196 m above sea level, below the Gosau Glacier, at the foot of the High Dachstein. It is thus located in the Dachstein Mountains in Upper Austria, high above the valley of Gosau in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut. Due to its high altitude, the Adamekhütte is not a destination for day hikers, but rather an important base for long-distance hikers on the Northern Alpine Trail as well as for mountaineers who can undertake major mountain, glacier and climbing tours on the Dachstein from here.
