The Werfener Hütte is a refuge of the Austrian Tourist Club. It is located at 1967 m above sea level in the Tennengebirge mountains at the foot of the Werfener Hochthron in the Pongau region. It is the highest managed refuge in the mountains; from the sunny terrace there is a view of the valley of the Salzach, the Hochkönig and as far as the Hohe Tauern. The hut is a destination for hikers and a base for mountaineers; numerous plateau crossings and summit ascents are possible. Climbing routes are also passable, the respective host of the hut can provide information.
