Facts and practical information
The Frauenbergkirche Mariae Himmelfahrt in Stein an der Donau, a district of Krems an der Donau, is a former church and, since the mid-1960s, a memorial to the fallen of both world wars. It was built in the 14th century on a rock terrace above the parish church of St. Nicholas and is connected to it by the steep Frauenbergstiege. The tower, popularly known as Alter Michl, characterizes the townscape of Stein.
