Église Saints-Pierre-et-Paul, Namur
Facts and practical information
The church of Saints-Pierre-et-Paul d'Erpent was erected by the Augustinian canons of the abbey of Géronsart in 1771. It replaces at the same place an old Romanesque church demolished in 1750 by Canon François Mouchon, priest of the village at that time.
Since the date of its construction, the building has not undergone any major transformation and each restoration has been carried out with the aim of preserving its original character. The reuse of the shafts of the old Tuscan columns of the old Romanesque church that preceded the current building is one of the major assets of Saints-Pierre-et-Paul d'Erpent.
