Facts About Fun guo
Fun guo, also known as Chaozhou fun guo or Chaozhou dumplings, originates from the Chaoshan region in coastal eastern Guangdong, Southern China. In the local Chaozhou dialect, these delectable treats are called "hung gue" but they are more widely recognized by their Cantonese name.
These dumplings have also made their way to other parts of Guangdong, where they continue to enjoy popularity. Interestingly, they have even found a place in Hawaiian cuisine, where they are called "pepeiao" meaning "ear" in Hawaiian, due to their ear-like shape.
Cherished in both Teochew and Hawaiian kitchens, fun guo offers a delightful culinary experience with its distinctive, steamed dumpling goodness.
