Facts and practical information
The former residence of Yip Ting-Shi is located in Lin Ma Hang, Sha Tau Kok, Hong Kong. It was built in about 1907 with the financial support of Yip Ting-Shi, the eighth generation of the Yip family from Lin Ma Hang village. He joined the United League of Nations in the early 1890s and actively supported Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary activities, so he modeled the house on Sun Yat-sen's former residence in Tsui Hang Village. The historical background and architectural style of the residence are of great value. The residence was once classified as a Grade II historic building by the Hong Kong Antiquities and Monuments Office, and the Government gazetted the residence as a declared monument in November 2009.
