Stone well in Kutna Hora, a cruise well - a stone drinking water tank from the late 15th century located on a cruise market in Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic. The National Monument of the Czech Republic culture considered a unique example of medieval engineering in the Czech lands and a masterpiece of late Gothic art.
The well in the years 1493–1495 was probably built by the architect of Matěj cruise from Prostějova, author of several other late -Gothic buildings in Kutna Hora, including Saint Barbara's church. The construction of a magnificent well was funded by knight Jan Smíšek from Vrchovišť, owner of Gródek Kutnohorski. The well is made of a richly decorated twelve -angle from thoroughly stuck sandstone blocks. Originally, the well was decorated with several Gothic sculptures placed on consoles, which, however, did not survive. The well served as a drinking water reservoir for the inhabitants of Kutna Hora from 1495 until 1890. A wooden sewage system led to the well with a length of several kilometers. In the years 1887–1890 the well was restored by Ludvík Lábrel.
