Lutheran church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, Cieszyn

The Evangelical Church of the Apostles Piotr and Paul "Niwy" in Czech Cieszyn - a Lutheran church, used by the congregation of the Silesian Evangelical church of the Augsburg Confession in Czech Cieszyn.

After breaking up with a congregation led by pastor Paweł Zahradnik in 1926, the new Polish congregation in 1931 began to build his own church "Niwy". The temple built in the neo-Gothic-Modernic style according to the design of the architect Edward David was completed in the autumn of 1932. Thanks to the efforts of Józef Berger after World War II, the church remained an Evangelical-Augsburg. In the years 1995–2011 he was shared by the congregation of the Lutheran evangelical church of the Augustburg religion in the Czech Republic.

The church is built on the plan of the Greek cross with neo -Gothic features. The 50-meter tower with the main input of the framed ogival portal, at the height of the nave, it is included in the fault attic and is finished with a pyramidal roof with penetrating pediments. The decor of the facade, over 24 meters wide, are triple high windows, ogival portals, three -part arcaded sliding, a repeated motif of a pilasa hairstyle under the cornices. In the interior, in the presbytery there is an altar by Henryk Nitra from Dolne Błędowice and a commemorative plaque dedicated to Fr. Superintendent Józef Berger, the first and long -term pastor. Before the rainbow on the left at the height of the first Pawłaczy there is the pulpit.
