Křížová Hora

Křížová Hora - a hill in the massif of the Lusatian Mountains in the Western Sudetes band, in the Czech Republic.
The mountain is located in the northern Czech Republic in the southwestern part of the Lusatian Mountains on the southwestern border of the city of Jiřetín near Jedlovou, over which it dominates. According to the Czech division, the hill belongs to the Krkonošsko-Jesenická subprovint.
A characteristic rise of volcanic origin, with a distinct conical shape and steep slopes with a flat peak surface. It rises in the northern part of the ridge of the Lusatian Mountains, stretching directly from the Jedlová hill, to Jiřetín near Jedlovou, which was called Holá Lada or Kraví Hora. The back on which the hill rises is made of granite and metamorphic rocks, fylites, which are cut by numerous silicate and calcite veins containing sulfide ore: copper, lead, zinc and silver.
At the flat peak there is a pilgrimage with the chapel of God's grave, to which the north-east slope leads the Way of the Cross, at which 11 Cross stations stand. In 1790, the northeastern part of the slope outside the cross was foreseen.
On the western slope by the road to the Jedlová settlement there is a ski jump, built in 1931. The peak is a good viewpoint, from which there is a full panorama of the surrounding peaks and valleys of the Lusatian Mountains, and the Way of the Cross is a viewpoint on Jiřetín near Jedlovou. From the 18th century, the mountain has been a known pilgrimage place.
In the past, there were several aditers in the mountain slope, in which sulfide was used: iron, copper, lead and zinc with an admixture of silver, which occurred in, in ryets. Until now, the existence of four adits has been documented. The most famous are the St. Krzysztof from 1539 with a length of 640 m and Saint. John the Evangelist from 1781 with a length of 197 m. Adits are a tourist attraction.
