Borek u Velhartice is a nature reserve ev. no. 1296 south of the village of Velhartice, on the right bank of the Ostružná River, below Velhartice Castle in the Klatovy district. The reason for the protection is to preserve the relict pine in the Pošumava region as a remnant of the natural distribution of the pine tree.
The nature reserve is part of the forest stands on the northern and partly eastern slope of Borek. The centre of gravity of the area is relict pine, towards the Ostružna valley the stands are lichen or moss, also pine pines. The predominant vegetation is hemlock with beech, white fir and spruce. Alpine hollow-head and mountain dogwood occur in the area.
The geological substrate consists of quartzite. Surface weathering of the rocks created rocky debris. A part of the hiking trail is a preserved entrance to a silver mining tunnel. The area is managed by the Agency for Nature and Landscape Conservation of the Czech Republic.
