Matylda, Most
Facts and practical information
Matylda is a man-made impassable reclamation lake in the northwestern part of the city of Most in Township II. Souš. The reservoir was created during reclamation by flooding the former Vrbenský quarry. On some maps it is therefore referred to as the Vrbenský Reservoir, as the reservoir was originally called. It is now called Matylda, after the original name of the mine from the First Republic, and Lake Vrbenský is the name of a smaller body of water about 500 metres north of Matylda. Lake Matylda is surrounded on the north by the I/13 road and on the south by the Autodrom Most built on the reclaimed spoil from this mine.
