Zámek Lešná, Zlín
Facts and practical information
Lešná Castle is a former aristocratic residence of the Counts of Seilern, rebuilt in 1887-1894 in the historicist style. It is located in Štípa, a local part of Zlín, on the grounds of the local zoo. It is currently owned by the city of Zlín. The chateau furnishings belong to the National Heritage Institute.
The history of Lešná Castle is often linked to the history of Lukov Castle, which belonged to the Seilern family since 1724. The castle fell into disrepair and by 1793 it was completely uninhabitable. Therefore, the Seilern family found a new place to build a more comfortable and representative residence in Lešná.
