The Museum of Public Transport in Prague was opened on May 14, 1993 by the mayor of Prague Jan Koukal. The museum was opened in connection with the end of regular operation of the Střešovice depot in 1992. The depot in 1991 was recognized as a technique monument with vehicles currently in the museum.
