zámek Radešín
Facts and practical information
Radešín Castle is a castle building in the village of the same name in the Žďár nad Sázavou district.
The original Renaissance fortress of the Radešínský of Radešovice from the end of the 16th century was acquired by the Ditrichštejn family in 1607 and in 1638 it was ceded to the restored Žďár monastery. In 1684 the exterior was modified and in 1706 the building was changed by the reconstruction of the former brewery into the residence of the Žďár monastery. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1784, the chateau belonged to the Moravian religious fund, which sold it to the Schneider family in 1826. In 1827, it was modified in a Classicist style. The descendants of the Schneiders owned the chateau until 1945, when it was forcibly nationalized and until the end of the 1980s served as apartments and warehouses of the State Farm in Křižanov. Initial attempts to restore it by private interests ended in failure and only deepened the decay and devastation of the building.
Currently, the castle is owned by the Kubíček family, owners of the company Balóny Kubíček. The intention is to build a "balloon castle" - a centre of ballooning. At present, there is a possibility of pilot training and sightseeing balloon flights over the Highlands.
