The Moulay oppidum or Mesnil oppidum is an oppidum located in the commune of Moulay, Mayenne department, Pays de la Loire region. Excavations took place on the site between 1972 and 1975, at the time of the development of the commune, in particular the construction of a housing estate. A first rampart was cleared on this occasion, assuming a surface of 12 hectares to the site, as well as a certain number of vestiges now exposed to the departmental archaeological Museum of Jublains. On May 26, 1986, the enclosure was registered as a historical monument.
In 2004, an intervention within the framework of road works of deviation of Moulay and Mayenne highlights a second rampart long of 1 200 meters, the total enclosed space being of 135 hectares, placing the site on the list of 10 largest oppida of France and the vastest of the Armorican Massif. A space of 11 ha is excavated until June 2011.
