St. Martin's Church, Ognon
Facts and practical information
The Saint-Martin church is a Catholic parish church located in Ognon, in the Oise department, in France. It is a small building without character, which consists of a single vessel completed in 1639, and a side chapel of the sixteenth century. Only the western portal and the tombstones inside are noteworthy. Otherwise, the number of seven ribbed vaults seems unusual for the modest length of the vessel, as well as the flamboyant Gothic style of the vaulting, almost a century after the arrival of the Renaissance in the region. For its picturesque setting, the church square was listed in 1944, as well as the church itself. The church is also registered as a historical monument by order of February 20, 1970. Today it is part of the parish of Saint-Rieul de Senlis, and Sunday masses are celebrated there every three months, on Sundays at 9:30 am.
