Château de Bonnes, Bonnes
Facts and practical information
The castle of Bonnes is located in the village of Bonnes, in the south of the department of Charente, on the banks of the Dronne.
It was built at the beginning of the Renaissance on the medieval castle of the seigneury of Bonne and remodeled in the 17th century, with one of its facades in classical style. It was largely destroyed during the Revolution.
The castle was partially registered as a historical monument on April 10, 1974 for the Renaissance wing and on December 4, 1995 for the two wings of the castle, excluding the part built in the 20th century.
The building has been the subject of a major restoration program since 2007.
