The chapel of Vieux-Astre is located 650 meters northeast of Sepvigny, in the heart of the cemetery, along the road that leads to the village of Chalaines. Astre means "oyster". The present cemetery of Sepvigny surrounds the church.
This chapel has been classified as a historical monument since November 11, 1910.
