The Esterházy Madonna, a stunning painting by Raphael from 1508, is displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary. This masterpiece was at the heart of a dramatic heist on November 5, 1983, when several invaluable works by renowned artists such as Raphael, Giorgione, Tintoretto, and Tiepolo were stolen. Fortunately, the Italian Carabinieri successfully recovered all the stolen art, including the Esterházy Madonna. They found the missing pieces in an abandoned Greek convent near Aigio.
