The Benedictine Church or Church of the Assumption, popularly known as the Goat Church, is a Gothic church dedicated to the Assumption, built in the 13th and 14th centuries, on the south side of the Main Square in Sopron. The Franciscan monks first built their monastery in the centre of the town, then around 1280 they built a church of carved stone from St. Margaret's, which is now one of the most outstanding works of early Hungarian Gothic architecture. Its nave vault and organ case were built in the middle of the 15th century, and its furnishings are Baroque.
