Jag Mandir, Udaipur

Jag Mandir is an exquisite palace that stands majestically on an island in the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, India. Often referred to as the "Lake Garden Palace," Jag Mandir is a testament to the architectural grandeur and cultural heritage of the Mewar dynasty.

Constructed in the 17th century, the palace was built under the reign of three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar kingdom. It is famed for providing refuge to Prince Khurram (later Emperor Shah Jahan) during his rebellion against his father, and it is said that the palace served as an inspiration for the world-renowned Taj Mahal.
