Nestled in the captivating Parvati Valley of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, the Sar Pass Trek is a thrilling adventure for trekkers seeking to connect with nature and experience the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The trek typically spans over a course of 5 to 7 days, covering a total distance of approximately 48 kilometers. It reaches an altitude of 4,220 meters at the Sar Pass, offering trekkers panoramic vistas of the majestic Himalayan range. The trek begins in the quaint village of Kasol, often referred to as the "Amsterdam of India," due to its vibrant atmosphere and picturesque setting.
As adventurers ascend, they traverse through the charming village of Grahan, which offers a glimpse into the local Himalayan lifestyle. The trail continues through the verdant rhododendron forests, leading to the serene campsite of Min Thatch. It is here that trekkers can marvel at the stunning views of the Chandrakhani stretch.
The ascent to Nagaru campsite presents a more challenging phase of the trek, with steep slopes and potentially snowy conditions, depending on the season. The reward at the summit of Sar Pass, however, is unparalleled. The pass serves as a natural amphitheater, with a 360-degree view of the prominent peaks and the serene Parvati Valley below.
Descending from the pass, the trail takes trekkers through the remote village of Biskeri Thatch, characterized by its lush meadows and the Biskeri stream, before finally concluding the journey in the village of Barshaini.
