Phyang Monastery, Phyang Gompa is a Buddhist monastery located in Fiang village, just 15 or 16 kilometres west of Leh in Ladakh, northern India. It was established in 1515. Phyang Monastery name is "Gangon Tashi Chodzong". The name was derived from Gang Ngonpo that means the blue mountain, which is situated behind the monastery སྒང་ = high place, prominence, ridge, mound, hill, spur, top; སྔོན་པོ་ = blue ()
