Facts About Sunda porcupine
The Sunda porcupine, a member of the Hystricidae family, is indigenous to Indonesia. Acknowledging the threats to its survival, the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry designated the species as protected in June 2018. This decision was made in response to the severe hunting pressure on the Sunda porcupine, fueled by the mistaken belief that it possesses aphrodisiac properties.
