When Is the Best Time To Visit Israel?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Israel depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Tourist Season in Israel
Israel can be a year-round destination. Summer lasts from mid-May to August, and is long, hot and virtually rain-free.
In May, the weather is perfect, there is no heat yet, the air temperature reaches 30°C, and rainfall is rare. In June, the number of tourists increases. Monuments and beaches become more crowded. The skies are cloudless and the average air temperature increases. July and August, on the other hand, are the hottest months of the year, and the heat that occurs makes sightseeing somewhat difficult. However, this is a good period for relaxing on the Mediterranean coast.
In the autumn months (September and October) there are far fewer tourists, the summer heat begins to fade, and it is somewhat cooler and more pleasant. The winter months (November to early March) are cooler and wetter, a time of increased rainfall and, in some regions, snow. In the area around Mount Hermon (Golan Heights), winter sports can be enjoyed, while at the same time the Mediterranean has spring weather, and the Dead Sea coast and the area around Eilat have ideal conditions for beachcombing, diving and water sports.
In spring (the second half of March and April) the rainfall disappears, the hills turn green, overgrown with flowers, and the temperature reaches moderate values oscillating around 25°C, making this period visitor-friendly.
