When Is the Best Time To Visit Israel?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Israel depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Climate of Israel
The different regions of Israel vary considerably. In a relatively small area, there are several climate zones, of which one can distinguish between Mediterranean, temperate and tropical climates.
The Mediterranean climate is primarily the Mediterranean coastal region within the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa. It is characterized by mild and rainy winters and long and hot summers.
A temperate climate prevails in the Jerusalem area and the central hills range. The weather in this area is characterized by a warm and humid spring, hot and dry summers, and cool and humid autumns. Snowfall is not unheard of during the winter.
The tropical climate, on the other hand, is the southern part of the country (the Negev desert region, the area around Eilat), where the weather is shaped by masses of hot and dry air from over the Arabian Peninsula and the Sahara. In spring and autumn, strong Khamsin winds blow there, causing temperatures to rise as high as 50°C and triggering sandstorms.
