April - May

The spring months bring longer and warmer days. Daytime temperatures oscillate between 13°C - 15°C, however, nights remain slightly cooler (around 5°C - 7°C).

The area around the Rhaetian Alps is cooler, especially the higher parts of the mountains, where the mercury bar can drop to several degrees above 0°C, and frosts can occur at night.

In spring, rainfall is abundant in both lowland and mountain areas. On average, a dozen days a month are overcast and with passing rainfall. Despite this, you can still count on bright and sunny days. With the first rays of sunshine, nature awakens to life. Greening mountain slopes and flowery fields encourage hiking, and bicycle escapades along mountain trails.

June - August

The warmest period of the year, average temperatures rise to 20°C - 25°C, and hot days with temperatures around 30°C occur very occasionally. The days are long and the sun shines for about 6 hours, however, even in the summer you will not be spared from rain, which often occurs along with thunderstorms.

Despite the rather heavy rainfall, summer is the best time to visit - from the lowlands to the highest parts of the mountains. Sunny and warm days encourage all forms of recreation, whether sightseeing, hiking or cycling.

September - October

The autumn months are still warm, but bring a gradual drop in temperatures to 13°C - 19°C. However, you can still count on plenty of sunshine and slightly less heavy rainfall. The weather is conducive to hiking and cycling, and nature taking on different colors creates amazing landscapes.

In autumn, take part in the grape harvest and tasting of local wines.

November - March

In the winter months, the temperature drops to 3°C - 7°C, the sky becomes increasingly cloudy and the sun is less frequent. Days become foggy and rainy. In December, rainfall may be replaced by snow. In the Rhaetian Alps, especially in the higher elevations, temperatures are even colder and the mercury bar can drop to -10°C.

On the slopes, snow cover lasts from December to March on average, creating very good conditions for skiers and snowboarders. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy more than 20 slopes in Malbun. They are well-prepared and suitable for both beginners and those craving extreme thrills. Dog sled rides are also organized here and a toboggan run has been made available.
