Aeshna viridis

The green hawker (Aeshna viridis) is an intriguing dragonfly species belonging to the Aeshnidae family. These striking insects can be found across numerous European countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine, and Serbia and Montenegro.

Green hawkers thrive in habitats near rivers, swamps, lakes, and marshes. Although they face some threats, primarily due to habitat loss in specific regions, they are generally not classified as highly vulnerable overall.
