Nooit Gedacht, Warnsveld
Facts and practical information
The Nooit Gedacht is a corn mill in Warnsveld in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Warnsveld has been part of the municipality of Zutphen since 2005.
As early as 1850, a mill was built on the site, which burned down in 1869 as a result of lightning. The successor to this mill suffered the same fate in 1905. That same year, the present mill was built. The mill was owned by the Garssen family between 1905 and 1971. In 1973 the municipality of Warnsveld sold the windmill to the current owner, the "Vereniging De Hollandsche Molen".
The mill has been run by the Abelskamp family for two generations. Dirk Jan senior died in the mill on May 10, 2011, after being involved in the miller's trade for more than 60 years. Together with his son Dirk Jan jr. he kept the mill operational for many years. Since his death, Dirk Jan junior has taken over the supervision. Both did and do this on a voluntary basis.
The mill is equipped with three pairs of grinding stones and also has equipment for processing flour products. The rods of the sails have a length of 22.50 meters. The inner windmill blade is equipped with sails. The outer rod is equipped with the Ten Have system in combination with Van Busselstroom line noses.
