Philippine hawk-eagle

The Philippine hawk-eagle, also known as the northern Philippine hawk-eagle, is a majestic raptor that belongs to the Accipitridae family. Initially classified under the genus Spizaetus, this species is endemic to the Philippines, making it a unique component of the country's biodiversity.

This eagle can be observed in the lush, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests of the Philippines. Intriguingly, what was once considered a subspecies, Pinsker's hawk-eagle, has now been recognized by some ornithologists as a distinct species.
