St. John the Baptist Church in Plock - a Roman Catholic parish church built in the second half of the 18th century. It is located in the Old Town next to the Seminary in Plock.
It was built in the late Baroque style in the years 1758-1771. The temple was cared for by the Reformed fathers. The church was built on a plot of land that was donated to the monks by Marianna Lasocka, a swordswoman of Zakroczym. Nearby the reformers built a monastery. They lived there until the dissolution of their order in 1864. The interior of the church consists of the main altar and two side altars. The painting in one of them was made by Wladyslaw Drapiewski. Sculptures of linden wood were made by one of the monks. Above the main entrance to the temple there are sculptures of St. Peter and Paul, in front of the building there is a bust of the bishop of Płock, Archbishop Antoni Julian Nowowiejski. It is the work of Professor Gustaw Zemla.
In this church, on August 2, 1893, before the image of Our Lady of the Angels, St. Maria Francesca Kozlowska received the revelation of the Work of Great Mercy for the world. This was the first modern revelation of Divine Mercy, which gave rise to the Congregation of Marian Fathers.
The pastor of the parish since 1996 is Rev. Antoni Kolodziejski. The parish currently has a population of 7013 people. St. John the Baptist Parish is also used by the seminarians of the Major Seminary.
