Kozie Czuby, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Kozie Czuby is a peak with three peaks in the long eastern ridge of Świnica in the Polish High Tatras, in the Kozie Wierch massif. The author of the name Kozie Czuby is Rev. Walenty Gadowski. Through this peak leads the most difficult Tatra marked hiking trail called Orla Perć.
Kozie Czuby is separated from Kozie Wierch by Kozia Prze喚cz Wyżnia, and from the nearby Zamarła Turnia by narrow and deep Kozia Prze喚cz. Goat Peaks descend by steep walls with height of about 200 m towards Dolinka Kozia and about 250 m towards Dolinka Pustej. There are several climbing routes leading through the walls, but the peak is less popular than the neighboring Zamarła Turnia and Kozi Wierch.
The first recorded ascent: in summer - Rev. Walenty Gadowski, Klemens Bachleda and Jakub Gąsienica Wawrytko the elder, June 18, 1904 and on the north wall - Michal Beynarowicz in 1912, in winter - Jerzy Lande, Jan Malachowski, Mariusz Zaruski, March 26, 1913.
The crossing of Kozie Czuby is facilitated by mounted chains and buckles. Until 2012 there were 9 fatal accidents here.
The fragment of Orla Perć running through Kozi Wierch and Kozie Czuby was built in 1904 and finished a year later.
