Bastion Żubr, Gdańsk
Facts and practical information
Bastion Bison - one of fourteen similar bastions with which Gdańsk was fortified between 1622 and 1636, located near the Lower Town. The solid embankment of this bastion was made of municipal waste. It is an element of the fortification built on the bends of the fortress fortification on the plan of a pentagonal massif of earth reinforced with a wall.
A viewpoint is to be created on the bastion. There are also plans to rebuild the promenade and the bike path, install lighting and monitoring. Dolne Miasto/Wałowy Square/Stare Przedmieście is one of the four areas included in the 2017-2023 Municipal Revitalization Program.
