Park Karola Kurpińskiego, Poznań
Facts and practical information
Karol Kurpinski Park - an urban park in Poznań, on Saint Roch, in the area of the auxiliary unit Osiedle Rataje, adjacent to Serafitek and Saint Roch streets.
The park was laid out in the autumn of 1938. The small space was developed in an unusual way for Poznan parks of that time - a large number of climbing plants and small architecture consisting of stones and boulders were used. The park replaced the previously existing shooting range of the chivalry brotherhood, sold to the city in 1920. In the interwar period the building was particularly popular among mothers with children. After the neglect of the communist regime and the necessary revitalization, it was reopened to strollers at the turn of July and August 2004. On the northern side, there is a large information board commemorating Karol Kurpiński, founded by the Karol Kurpiński Musical Society in Włoszakowice in cooperation with the Board of Municipal Greenery.
From the plants growing here we should mention: maples, birches, elm trees, lindens, willows, oaks, plane trees, vital trees, grosbeaks, chestnut trees and vejmutkas. There is also one white mulberry tree.
Access is provided by streetcars 5, 13 and 16 to the Politechnika stop.
