The reserve includes a group of rocky outcrops, more than 20 meters high, built of coarse-grained Ciężkowice sandstone, which under the influence of erosion took on original shapes. Individual rocks have their own names, such as: Prządka-Matka, Prządka-Baba, Herszt, Madej. The name of the reserve comes from a legend saying that the rocks are girls turned into stone, punished for spinning flax on a holiday. The highest point of this reserve is 520 m above sea level.
Prządki has had reserve status since 1957 and is the only rock reserve in southeastern Poland.
In 2009 the Prządki reserve was named in honour of Prof. Henryk Świdziński - geologist, specialist in regional geology of the Carpathians and geology of oil and gas deposits, author of two works on Prządki in the interwar period.
There are no trails for pedestrians running through the reserve yet, so staying within the reserve borders is a violation of regulations, which prohibit moving outside the marked trails. Near the northern border of the reserve there is a black trail marked by the Polish Tourist Society in Krosno.
Near the reserve are the ruins of the 15th-century castle Kamieniec in Odrzykon.
