Jonaszówka, Ojców National Park
Facts and practical information
Jonaszówka, also called Fatty Janek - a rock on the orographically right slope of the Prądnik Valley within the Ojców National Park. It is located at the foot of Chełmowa Góra in the outlet of the side valley of Sąspowska Valley. Together with the Plażówka rock on the other side of the valley it forms a rock gate, but it is hardly recognizable since the outlet of the Sąspowska Valley is quite wide. At the foot of Jonaszówka there are ponds with rainbow trout breeding.
Jonaszówka is about 20 m high. On its top there used to be the bottom of the Sąspowska Valley and the Prądnik River. The upper, steep slopes are overgrown with a rare plant species - John's spurge. The rock is known primarily as an excellent vantage point. A path with a railing leads to its top from the bottom of the Prądnik Valley. On the top of Jonaszówka there is a flat viewing platform secured with railings and a board with the panorama and its description. From this platform there are good views of the Prądnik Valley, Sąspowska Valley and Ojców Castle. On the opposite, forested and steep slope of the Prądnik Valley there are white rocks: Czyżówki, Figowe Skały, Ostrogi and Bystra.
